A physician-authored synthesis of aging research with practical food and lifestyle context.
In a randomized trial of adults aged 65 and older with obesity, diet and diet-plus-exercise improved several biological-age measures over one year, although these outcomes are biomarkers rather than proof of extended lifespan. A three-year analysis from the DO-HEALTH trial found a small slowing of several DNA-methylation aging clocks with omega-3 supplementation, with additive effects from omega-3, vitamin D, and exercise on one clock. A separate 19-week trial reported improvements in DNA-methylation age and insulin sensitivity with nucleotide supplementation, but these findings do not establish disease prevention or a guarantee of longer life.
